Independently Tunable Triband Patch Antenna with Band-Notched Characteristics for X-Band Applications

This paper presents a triband antenna with simple design for X-band applications. The proposed is designed based on patch truncated corner slot and complementary split-ring resonators in the ground plane. In this way, exhibits three operating bands its resonant frequencies can be controlled independently by changing dimensions of resonator structures addition, due to antiresonant behavior structures, notch-band characteristic at 10.7 GHz. A parametric study performed provide detailed understanding independent resonance tuning antenna. Both simulated measured results are presented, which good agreement. shows including (with absolute relative bandwidths) 9.4–9.7 GHz (300 MHz, 3.14%), 10.3–10.6 2.86%), 11.05–11.32 (297 2.66%). addition that, notched band 10.6–11.05 introduced exclude operation frequency radiometric observation systems (10.6–10.7 GHz). To best our knowledge, work unique combination single-layer implementation X-band. Such structure provides additional degrees freedom design, customizing required while avoiding other bands.
